Hair is my art form and has been a passion of mine for 20 years. My career began in Indianapolis, IN and I moved to Austin in 2014. Education has always been at the forefront of my career. Learning, teaching, and constantly growing keeps me inspired and loving the craft.
I enjoy collaborating on a looks based on your lifestyle, hair type, and desires. I create custom cuts and colors that work together in harmony with a classic meets edgy, effortless/ low maintenance kind of style. I like to refer to it as “Minimalist Hair”. I’m all about embracing and enhancing what you have naturally. I am trained in Sassoon Cutting and Advanced Razor Cutting as well as receiving Master Colorist Certifications. My technique for each service is customized based on the needs of each individual.
Creative Alchemy Studio
A private studio space located inside MySalonSuites in Austin, TX.
My focus was creating a space that reflects my values regarding sustainability for our bodies and the planet. I use all non toxic products, low toxic color, and work with companies who align with eco friendly practices.
I work with Green Circle Salons to recycle 95% of beauty waste. Creative Alchemy Studio is a Certified Sustainable Salon and carbon neutral.
Having a private space I am able to have a more in depth and customized experience for each person. I use aromatherapy and incorporate energy work into all of my services. My aim is to give you a space to feel beautiful, connect with yourself, and de-stress. Creating a holistic self care service.
Reiki
Reiki is an energy healing technique that originated in Japan 100 years ago, some believe it dates back much further. The term Reiki is derived from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things.
The ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a class. It is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life.
The intention of the Reiki practitioner is to act as a conduit of this energy and thereby replenish and restore energy flow and balance to support healing. Reiki practitioners do not give, take or manipulate energy only serve as a channel to guide energy throughout the body to promote the recipient’s self-healing abilities.
An imbalance of energy flow is thought to be associated with disease and emotional distress. Reiki gives your body a break from the stresses of daily life, helping you return to a state of relaxation. Once in this state, your body is better able to heal any damage brought on by stress, injury, or disease.
Reiki is not a substitute for necessary and qualified medical or related professional care. It is not an alternative treatment for medical issues but a complementary therapy that may help support healing and increase a feeling of well-being.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion or connected to any religions.
HOW IS REIKI USED AT CREATIVE ALCHEMY?
I provide the space and time to explore your own healing in a comfortable and supportive environment, giving you the ability to connect to yourselves in a conscious way. During your shampoo service I will provide a few minutes of Energy Work accompanied by aromatherapy and a relaxing head massage. Additional time can be added if you would like a longer session.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
The only thing needed is the openness to receive, everyone’s experience is different. Sometimes people feel sensations moving throughout the body, some see color, while other people do not perceive any change at all. Most people will feel very relaxed and peaceful.
